Overheating Computer

Published by WKPC on September 1, 2015

Fixing an Overheating Computer

Today I repaired a overheating computer that kept automatically shutting off on it’s own. When it would get too hot, the machine would shut itself down to prevent a fire. When it would run, it was operating at almost 90 degrees celcius. This is dangerous to the computer. After replacing the cpu cooler and reapplying thermal paste, it dropped to 54 degrees celcius. You don’t want any higher temps more than mid 70’s. Anything in the 80’s can damage parts.
